Evie Johnson returns to the Wyldcliffe Abbey School for Young Ladies for another term and more danger than she can imagine.
Though she knows that difficulty and danger wait for her at the school, where the Dark Coven seek control of the Sacred Fire in the talisman handed down to Evie by her great-great-grandmother, Agnes, Evie has promised herself that she will not abandon her immortal love, Sebastian, or her sisters, Helen and Sarah. In the Dark Coven's hands, the talisman's power would make Sebastian one of the Immortal Lords, and the Coven, too, would be granted immortality. But that would come at a great cost-harm to Evie-and against Agnes' wisdom. Evie's beloved Sebastian sickens and fades while he refuses to hurt Evie. Sebastian wants her to let him go and her own friends Helen and Sarah want her to stay away, but she finds she can honor neither wish. She cannot betray her true love and she must do what she can to save Sebastian from becoming a slave of the Dark Masters, a fate much worse than death.
Living every day in fear that the Wyldcliffe coven will betray her in order to save Sebastian and secure their own immortality, Evie and her sisters, Helen, Sarah and Agnes, must master the power of the Talisman and find a way to bring peace to Sebastian.
