This book, published on the occasion on the exhibition to be held at the Centro José Guerrero in Granada, curated by Juan Manuel Bonet, presents an unknown part of Gisèle Freund's personal collection: the portraits of Spanish-American personalities, intellectuals, writers and artists. These photographs reveal Gisèle Freund's life journey, from her beginnings in Paris, through her period of exile in Argentina, her stays in Uruguay, Chile and Mexico, to her final period back in Europe.
During her time there, Gisèle Freund took photographs of important personalities such as Julio Cortázar, Pablo Neruda, Alejo Carpentier, Jorge Luis Borges, Eva Perón, Roberto Matta, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, among others.
