Fifty years after its creation, an indescribable story about an indescribable girl is published.

What does Arabella want more than anything else? She wants to be famous! Should she be a painter? Or an actor? Or perhaps a twirling, whirling ballerina? But - oh, dear - she just cant seem to do anything right. Just when she's about to give up hope, two old people walk by. They ask her to paint . . . to act . . . and twirl . . . and you know what? They love her. And, at last, Arabella is recognised for being, well, her indescribable self.

The story behind the story:
Due to paper shortages during the Korean War, publishers were unable to take on this story - originally 64 pages long - and Jane Gilbert tucked Arabella away in a trunk. Fifty years later, she dug her out, dusted her off, and sent her to one last publisher . . .

Jane Gilbert was a commercial artist who designed Christmas cards and displayed paintings in various galleries. Her childhood diaries and her rag doll, named Arabella Anastasia, inspired this story.
