Miyake's astonishing forms and textures have offered Penn subjects that echo both a primitive tribal beauty and the most futuristic fashion. The barriers that traditionally separated East and West are diminishing. The sources of inspiration for both men are global, stretching from Africa to Miyake's Japan.
