The Forbes are moving house. Their new place is huge and old - and it has a ballroom! In one room is an old-fashioned box bed made of wood, with "Jeremy" carved on it - so of course that has to be Jeremy's bedroom. There's more to it than coincidence, though, as we begin to find out.
This is a story about a friendship between two boys more than a century apart; it also gives vivid glimpses of life in a nineteenth-century gold town.
