The actress and comedian Joyce Grenfell first met Virginia Graham in 1917 when they were both seven. They were inseparable friends until Joyce's death sixty-two years later and wrote daily whenever they were apart. This collection of letters written between 1929 and 1979 lay undiscovered in a cellar until 1995 and is published here for the first time.
The love of friends, enthusiasm and laughter were what mattered to Joyce, and this funny, touching book is a glorious affirmation of all three.
