This is the story of Esther Zepler, modern woman. Happily married wife of artist Sean, mother of Zachary, Zelda and Kate, she lives in a New York lofts, enjoys long lunches with her pregnant friend Sonia, and writes obituaries for a living. But life is never smooth, especially for the daughter of Auschwitz survivors, and her father Edek, communicating via fax and phone from Australia, is an insistent reminder of who she is and where she comes from.
