To accompany the exhibition 'Klaus Moje: Glass', Object Gallery and Craftsman House have co-published a magnificent 144 page full colour monograph. The monograph contains a comprehensive account of Moje's work and career by Megan Bottari, Canberra-based glass artist, writer, and curator.
Bottari's essay takes us through Moje's life from humble beginnings in Hamburg, Germany, through to his current studio practice situated on the far south coast of New South Wales. Divided into three acts -- The Early Years, The New World, and Pastorale -- the reader gets to know Moje as practitioner, innovator, and teacher. Full colour images provide a detailed pictorial overview of Moje's work from the 1960s until present day and snapshots of the artist at work and with his family offer insight into the more personal aspects of his life.
Tasmanian-based designer Lynda Warner has designed the monograph with Moje's colour palette in mind. Taking her cue from Moje's colour-saturated work, Warner's elegant design is compelling.
