In her first adventure since 'Prior Convictions' Willa Jansson sees her old friend, mythology professor Arthur Kenna, about to get arrested for brandishing a gun. Throwing herself valiantly, if not wisely, between him and the police, she gets them out of the situation - and under suspicion for brutally murdering Arthur's assistant, a Kwakiutl shaman also in a mountain cabin near the crime scene, Willa and Arthur barely evade arrest - and the real killer - long enough to learn that age-old truths can come in high-tech packages.
