'Latest Great Moments in Science' is based on the fabulous radio stories featured in the prize-winning series 'Great Moments in Science' on JJJ radio. It makes science easy to understand, and lots of fun. These stories tell current "truths" (everything changes) - the odder the better. They explain many things: why it is safer for a cat to fall from a 32-storey building that from a 7-storey building, and how this experiment got past the ethics committee; why the Chinese are making wooden space-ships; the location of a strange world that is as big as our Moon, hotter than our Sun, and a mirror-image of our own planet (hint - it's closer than Los Angeles); how diamonds can improve your car's fuel economy and engine life; and why your innocent backyard bonfire is a health hazard.
