He has many indsutrial, finiacial and commercial enterprises in Lebanon. he is an ex chairman of the Lebanese Industrialists Associates and an ex member of teh Board of teh beriut Cahmber of Commerce. Presently he is Chairman of the Centre for Lebanese Studies in oxford and Chairman of the finace Committee of teh board of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce. He lives in Beirut and London. Lawday, James - James Lawday is a vetran of the Middle eastern buiseness world. His work in projec managemn and business development has taen him o most parts of the region since the early 1980s. Detained in Iraq during the Gulf crisis, he accepted the call from Kuwait after the hostilities to assist in reopening the local schools. He next went on to work on the preliminary programme for the reconstruction of Beriut after 20 years of the war. James also spent some years three years with the British Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as part of the Export Promoter initiative, focusing on Egypt, Syria and Jordan. In 1996 James returned to live and work in Egypt. In 1997 he became one of the founding board members of the British Egyptian Business Association.
