Saint-Saens' zoological fantasy, 'Carnival of the Animals' needs little introduction - this music piece has been a musical favourite for parents and children for generations. In April and May of 2000, the Australian Chamber Orchestra collaborated with Peter Garrett and Michael Leunig to present something slightly different . . . A new all-Australian version of the 'Carnival of the Animals' performed with Leunig's illustrations projected at the back of the stage. The result was a sell-out tour in seven major cities.

Now for the first time in the history of this small orchestra, we are releasing the ACO's recording of the event narrated by Peter Garrett, and illustrated by Michael Leunig.
