Liaison 1914

A young lieutenant of Hussars at the beginning of the First World War, Edward Spears was the first British officer to be sent to the front in August 1914. As an outstanding British liaison officer with the French Vth Army (wounded four times), he was an eyewitness to the most crucial phase of the War, from the retreat from Mons to the victory of the Marne.
