Martha is frustrated by having a governess. First there's Miss Norrie. She turns out to be much too nervous to handle Martha's high spirits and leaves in a hurry. Martha thinks that she's free to play on the moors again, but soon another governess shows up. Her name is Miss Crow, and Martha is sure she's going to be even worse than Miss Norrie. It takes some unusual expeditions with Miss Crow for Martha to realise that there are things you can learn from governesses besides sewing and manners.
This is the third book in 'The Martha Years', an ongoing series about another spirited girl from America's most beloved pioneer family.
