Lucky Goes to Sea

In his first book, LUCKY FOR ME, journalist Frank Robson described how he and his partner Leisa Scott rescued Lucky, an enigmatic, cream coloured terrier from Death Row, and watched him become the third member of their high-spirited, independent, boat-mad family.

Now, in the follow up, Frank recounts how the three of them set out on their long-planned for open-ended cruise. How at first the trip seems beset by a curse - in near-freezing conditions Lucky almost drowns, he develops a cancerous lump and has to go under the surgeon's knife, he confronts two savage dogs at a dinner party and almost gets his owner beaten up by the drunken host, and he becomes a delightful focus for Leisa's fatally ill mother.

When the trio do finally escape land, the sailing trip is (almost) idyllic, with magical islands to discover, a new love interest for Lucky, crocodiles, feral cats, sharks and snakes and a bout or two of cabin fever, which require all of Lucky's skills as a relationship counsellor to deflect.
