Most men think that most women would like to marry. Lots of women think that men are afraid of commitment. Most men are not afraid of commitment but are absolutely petrified of committing to the wrong woman. Women, committed or otherwise, pooh-pooh such nonsense. A man, they say, is a grown-up human being with a will of his own; they are not out to catch or keep one. But women don't admit that they have a few tricks up their sleeves which they are prepared to try if a fellow isn't shaping up, as well as a tactic or two for keeping themselves sane when the game isn't going their way.
