Two mothers, one baby . . .
Gary and Molly seem to have everything going for them: a new home, a strong marriage and they're now expecting their first baby. Neither of them has much in the way of family and they're looking forward to starting one of their own. Only, after giving birth to their son, Molly's healthy deteriorates rapidly, leaving her sick in hospital, unresponsive to treatment.
None of the doctors can tell what's wrong with Molly. Gary finds himself alone with his new-born baby, a mountain of medical bills, and no job. He's forced to make a difficult decision and contact Molly's one living relative, her flaky older sister, for help.
But Molly had always been adamant that she would never contact Susannah again. So much so that she's hidden her sister's number, ensuring that she'd always think twice before inviting trouble back into her life. So how will Molly feel when she realises that her sister has become mother to her child?
An emotionally compelling novel about love, guilt and family ties.
