Matias Costa (b. 1973) was born in Buenos Aires and is now based in Madrid, where he graduated in journalism at the Universidad Complutense. His highly individual work explores grief, loss and the search for identity. Costa has won two World Press Photo awards in addition to many other accolades and his work is part of the permanent collections at the Moscow Photography Museum, the Spanish Ministry of Culture, Rotterdam Photographic Institute, and a number of private collections.
