The war come alive in all its harsh brutality when it was necessary to engage a tough enemy such as the Nazis and the Fascists in battle which Max Corvo did with great enthusiasm and skill. AUTHOR: Born in Sicily and settled as a child with his family in Middletown, Connecticut in the 1920s, Max Corvo was drafted in 1941 and selected as an Italian speaker by OSS. In his early 20s he became head of OSS Italy's Secret Intelligence section (SI) from the landings in Sicily in 1943 to May 1945. Max Corvo died in Middletown, CT in 1995. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
