As they race around the village fair having the best day of their lives, the name 'Max' is catching on. Soon everyone is calling each other Max and it is finally up to the postal service to make it stop before the mail can never be delivered again.
This is a funny and original tale of many wonderful characters and scenes. Max and the dog are delightful and vivacious. They don't know why they are the focus of such attention, but when it allows them to judge the cake competition and be the toast of the town, why worry? When Neville the postman enlists the aid of the whole postal community under the command of the illustrious Postmaster-General, the result is a spectacular climax of red bikes, vans and helicopters. But in the end, it is a story of a new friendship and one very, very cool day.
A story designed to appeal to the ridiculous in us all.
