Draekora is everything I hoped for and far, far more. Everything is completely turned on it’s head and it is glorious. There’s one character who ripped my heart out (okay, three, but one’s a dragon so what can you expect?) and it was glorious. Also, did I mention dragons? Well, draekons. With each better than the last, it is no surprise that I loved this third instalment of the Medoran Chronicles. What can be better than elves and dragons? Telepathic draekoran!
In addition to her strength of will discovered while at Akarnae, Alex has to learn to use her Meyarin abilities so that she - as "The Chosen One" - can fight the evil Aven who is set on taking over the world.
In "Draekora" an unexpected bond develops between Alex and Xiraxus, a draekon (which reminded me of Anne McCaffreys Pern dragons). Featuring a bit of time travelling, Alex learning to use her Meyarin abilities, enemies becoming friends and Lady Mystique making her enigmatic return "Draekora" is a read not to be missed.
I'd recommend this series to anyone who loves Narnia, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings - and dragons!
