Michael Graves's new monograph, 'Buildings and Projects 1982-1989' documents recent commissions - including museums, hotels, office buildings, private homes, and furniture - through original sketches and renderings, as well as photographs of models and completed projects. The monograph highlights such well known projects as the Humana Building in Louisville, Kentucky; the San Juan Capistrano Library in California; the Crown American Corporate Headquarters in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and the Emory University Museum of Art and Archaeology in Atlanta.
Michael Graves's reputation for the design of furniture, textiles and artifcats is reinforced by the presentation of products designed for Atelier International, Steuben Glass, Alessi, and Baldinger Architectural Lighting. Paintings, murals, prints and stage sets are also included in this monograph. Essays by Christian Norberg-Schulz and Robert Maxwell critically review the work.
