Duologues - short scenes for two players - provide a concentrated way of practising skills and encourage actors to listen and respond. They are used by drama school examining boards, students for their final year showcases, and professional actors' training centres.
For this new collection, Eamonn Jones and Jean Marlow have selected duologues from a range of plays, from Elizabethan to contemporary times. The extracts have been carefully chosen to offer a range of styles and include parts for a variety of accents and ages.
An added bonus is the helpful advice given by contributors such as Alan Ayckbourn, Don Taylor, actress Frances Cuka, Miles Gregory (of the British Touring Shakespeare Company) and playwright April de Angelis.
