'Morning Song' is the story of Hannah Gray, a young Irish woman who rescues her young nephew, Pip, from the clutches of his abusive father and flees to England. Cold, hungry, and tired, Hannah finds herself on the doorstep of the infamous Austen Dante, Baronet of Ravenscar. Willing to perform any task, however menial, to get shelter for her sickly nephew, Hannah begs Austen to employ her. Austen's dedication to his music borders on the obsessive, and he is constantly driving assistants away - the money he pays them to transcribe his music is not worth their sanity. Austen and Hannah strike a bargain and Hannah begins her job transcribing music - a job she has no clue how to do.

With all the time they spend together in the music room, Hannah and Austen quickly become friends. Austen realizes that Hannah is running from something or someone, but she refuses to let him in on her secret and he's got secrets of his own which he's vowed to take with him to the grave. While each battles with their own private demons, Pip's father, Mason Booth, learns of Hannah's whereabouts and it quickly becomes apparent that he is heading for Ravenscar. Can Austen and Hannah overcome their fears and doubts and trust in each other before it's too late and Mason Booth arrives hungry for revenge?
