With assistance from her animal friends--some helpful, some not-so-much--Mouse puts together the structure and furnishings of her nice little house. Her snug home has everything she needs, or so she thinks.
In the next story, one night she hears scary noises and sets out to trap the intruding "ghost"--only to discover that a hungry, homeless mouse has been hiding in her nice little house! Mack offers to do all sorts of chores in return for a roof over his head. Mouse accepts his offer and his company, and now her nice little house truly becomes a home.
