Mette and Hans Olav take two asylum seekers from the former Yugoslavia into their home. Expecting gratitude, they instead find Zheljka and Mesud abrasive and unpredictable. Soon the haunted couple moves out. But when Mette discovers that Zheljka gave away a child, the product of repeated rape, her own past compels her to an act of desperation.
