This is a story of corruption, greed, politics and the powers of the ICAC. It is a Wollongong story but also a story about corruption that could happen anywhere in Australia.
The work is based on the story of Rod Oxley, former CEO of Wollongong City Council, and gives his account of the ICAC investigation and hearing into corruption in the planning department of Wollongong council.
One of the sensational stories which featured heavily in the media for many weeks was town planner Beth Morgan (on cover) who was found to be corrupt having had personal liaisons and accepted gifts and money from local property developers.
The findings of the ICAC were to result in the entire council being sacked.
