Nevertell is a lovelymix of fantasy and historical fiction, ideal for those aged 8-12. While it tackles some darker moments in Russia's history and the main character's life, it largely explores friendship, magic and the icy scenery of Russia. The writing is wonderfully atmospheric but the plot is felt a little basic, and could have been more complex. Nevertheless, it's fun and easy to read. - Laura (QBD)
