Find the truth before they find you...
Marc Dane is a MI6 field agent at home behind a computer screen, one step away from the action. But when a brutal attack on his team leaves Marc as the only survivor - and with the shocking knowledge that there are traitors inside MI6 - he's forced into the front line.
However the evidence seems to point towards Marc as the perpetrator of the attack. Accused of betraying his country, he must race against time to clear his name. With nowhere to turn to for help and no one left to trust, Marc is forced to rely on the elusive Rubicon group and their operative Lucy Keyes. Ex-US Army, Lucy also knows what it's like to be an outsider, and she's got the skills that Marc is sorely lacking.
A terrorist attack is coming, one bigger and more deadly than has ever been seen before. With the eyes of the security establishment elsewhere, only Lucy and Marc can stop the attack before it's too late.

Marc Dane is oh so reluctant to step into front line espionage, until, his entire team is taken out. Now he hunts traitors to the Crown.
This book is perfect for those who are looking for a book that is high in action, like the Bourne Series, but if you aren't a fan of the genre, it won't change your mind. It's a good read for those who like to pack action into their lunch breaks and travel time. - Laurence (QBD)

After just a few chapters I could tell this book would be perfect for fans of I Am Pilgrim, its very similar. I personally, am not a big fan of the book so far. However Swallows style of writing is very enjoyable and fast paced.

Mac Dane was happy enought to be one of the back up blokes in the van with his computers rather than out the front with a gun. His years in the Royal Navy had been brutal, but now this thats about to change as an operation goes bad, his team is killed and now hes an wanted man on the run. All he wants is to stay alive long enough to find the culprit. Fast paced with twists and turns to the end - Karen (QBD)

A Rubik's Cube of a Thriller
Nomad is the Debut of this new series by James Swallow that leaves a blazing trail of carnage and betrayal all across Europe. After a catastrophic ending to a raid, Marc is left as the last man standing of his team. With the dying words of his friends echoing, Marc is left questioning what happened and who was left to trust. Not being a field operative, those chasing him think he's an easy mark, but fear and anger makes one very apt at surviving and a dangerous man to corner.
This is a Rubik cube of a thriller with plenty of twists and turns that leaves you wondering how many different sides there are to this tale.

The book instantly grabs you and immerses you in the conflict, which unfortunately is all to relevant to today's world. A modern twist to the old classic Fleming style of spy thriller, the novel introduces a greatly portrayed protagonist with a depth of character. Hopefully extends into a series as there is great potential.

Perfect for fans of James Bond, Jack Reacher or Jason Bourne, Marc Dane is a new spy in town. “Nomad” is a political spy thriller with lots of twists and turns, quite an entertaining read and a little unpredictable.
The story opens with a terrorist explosion in the middle of a police station in Barcelona, an MI6 special forces team Nomad is given intel about this but are led into a fatal ambush where Marc Dane, tech support, is the sole survivor.
Marc’s combat skills are put to the test as he tries to come home to MI6, he is accused of being behind the attack and “proof” framing him is found. He escapes and travels continents trying to clear his name and find out who is behind the ambush.
Loyalties are tested, surprises abound, an attack on USA soil by Arab fanatics is attempted before finding out who is behind it all. Suspension of disbelief is necessary as, really, a person can only survive so many attempts on their life… admittedly he is ex-navy and has some combat skills but that is not his regular job, he’s a computer specialist! For me, the story was entertaining but it took me a few chapters to get into and the pacing was a bit slow. - Kerryn (QBD)

Swallow's book seems ready-made for a Blockbuster movie; I can see a pensive but energetic Chris Pratt playing Marc Dane, our reluctant hero who bounces from one horn to the other of numerous action-packed dilemnas. Vengence, love interest, framing, twists, saving the world, who-can-you-trust … the formula is all there, and whisked up at a cracking pace. - Jeremy (QBD)
