The Reinvention Of England
Many people in England see the new parliaments in Scotland and Wales as a threat, increasing the possibility of the end of the Union (in place since 1707). Far from being a devastating blow to England's national and international worth, independence could allow the English to concentrate on themselves, making England more confident, prosperous and cohesive. There would be far-reaching consequences for England's own internal politics and relations with the world (notably Europe), but there is no need for these consequences to be bad.
