This book is an investigation of the syntax and semantics of Norwegian modal verbs, cast in the Principles- and- Parameters framework. The two main topics are a) the argument structure of these modals, and b) their possible insertion points in a syntactic structure. Both topics regard the syntax as well as many aspects of the semantics of these linguistic elements.
