Named after her mother's cellulite cream, teenager Estee, the only daughter of a megalomaniac father who has turned his house into a sovereign nation complete with its own army, flees the family compound, only to struggle further with the strange appetites of the American male. The three men in her life are the omnivores of the title: her rapacious father, her common-law husband (a vacuous Yuppie real estate salesman) and her terrible toddling cannibal baby. Will Estee be consumed or free herself from their voracity? Millet spares no one in this savagely funny satire of contemporary America, attacking everything from consumerism to chauvinism, realtors to retirees, parenting classes to office parties.
