Our Little Monster' is the transformation of a preschool child into something else altogether following one week of primary school. By the last day of the first week of school, Erik’s parents are tired enough to mistake a monster for their own child; taking home an experience they are more than familiar with. They are none the wiser or suspicious at behaviour that includes climbing pantry shelving, dismantling couch cushions or scaring his younger brother. The ‘good Erik’ has clearly been taken home by tired monster parents who can’t explain a child that does his homework, uses his manners and goes to bed on time. Luckily the boys figure it out for themselves and by morning the monster is with the monsters and the Erik is with his parents. But who could tell?
