A gripping thriller with a blend of fantasy, history and an intriguing mystery.
Blanka is just sixteen when she is sent to a boarding school by her adoptive parents. This school, she discovers, has a mysterious and decidedly spooky history, being built on the foundations of a medieval convent in which the nuns and other occupants had been accused of witchcraft and often tortured to death.
There is also a secret society - the Band of Wolves - which is intent on bullying her. Blanka at first evades their threats and insults, but when she stumbles over a body she is catapulted into a nightmarish sequence of events that lead her straight to the dark underworld of the convent.
With the help of Niklas, a young medical student, Blanka sets out to solve the mystery of the dead woman, but can they defeat the Band of Wolves, intent on practising their dark magic?
