Ever since her parents died, fourteen year old Teddi has lived with her next door neighbor Mamie. When Mamie's son dies in a plane crash, a woman named Dora appears and claims to be Mamie's daughter-in-law. She never even knew her son was married. Teddi becomes embroiled in a dangerous chain of events, written in the exciting style that fans of Willo Davis Roberts have come to expect. What gives this novel its particular warmth is the central part the elder woman plays to the playing out of the mystery and its happy resolution.
