The Penine Way has inspired many walkers, both young and old, to don their boots and walk the backbone of England. But the route is now so popular that it is in danger of becoming the victim of its own success. This book is an offering to the independent walker looking for new and less damaging ways to tackle those hills. Whilst describing the official route, it also provides alternatives for each section, thus alowing the walker the opportunity to create an individual interpretation of the walk from Edale to Kirk Yetholm.
