Darby's best friend Ann has never given up on Sugarfoot‚ the troublesome horse she owns. But now the insurance company is threatening to pull the coverage for Ann's parents' equine rescue program if Ann can't keep Sugarfoot in line. Darby and Ann find the perfect outlet for his energy in the island's charity race. When Ann's leg injury flares up the girls must rely on the most undependable person they know or Sugarfoot will have to be sold.
