'Pillar of Fire' is the second volume of Taylor Branch's monumental and much honored history of the Civil Rights Movement. It commences where 'Parting the Waters' concluded (with JFK's death) and relates King's struggle to hold his non-violent movement together in the face of factionalism and violence.
