Poppy Pretzel loves the 'P' word. She also loves playing netball and hanging out with her friends in the Mermaid gang.
When her first period arrives, she finds the experience 'puzzling' and 'p'erplexing.
As well, all the adult words to describe her own body, the menstrual cycle and the products she needs to use are awkward. So together with her friends, they create their own cool words.
As Poppy supports her friends through their puberty transition, she designs a special gift for all new girls making this step over into a new world.
Ages: 9-14
Great book
What a fab book. This girl is just like me. I have frizzy red hair and I got my period at school, so I thought it was written just about me. My friends I think just like she does and I'm so glad my mum bought me this book. I really like Missy at the Moonbeam Shop and I like the way the girls talk to each other. It's so real.
