Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is the original romantic comedy, brimful of wit and wisdom. When the haughty and aristocratic Darcy refuses to dance with Elizabeth Bennett, she instantly dislikes him, despite his reputation as a wealthy and eligible bachelor. Are her first impressions correct, or is there more to Darcy than meets the eye? Sharply observed and sparklingly funny, this is one of the most delightful love stories ever written.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Mr Darcy is the O.G. socially awkward millenial following his extraverted friend around at a party and failing at his goal to appear normal. It's Austen's most popular work for a reason, and that reason is because the characters are so sassy you find yourself saying "Oh Damn!" out loud multiple times. It is a beautiful journey; boy meets girl and insults her, girl strongly dislikes him, unresolved sexual tension, the greatest smackdown of the worst proposal ever that somehow leads to heart melting, victory fist pump inspiring love. Read on indulgently as someone with the actual name Fitzwilliam finds love; who knew, right? - Karrie (QBD)

A masterpiece of envious love, acceptance, witty humour and conversational showdowns. This book is packed with dynamic characters of varying personalities. The title refers to the two most common failings in love. - Victoria (QBD)

Pride and Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice is personally one of my favourite novels, and certainly the most popular of Jane Austens books. The writing is witty and even hilarious at times, bringing to life some of the most memorable characters of all time, from the overbearing Lady Catherine to the sweeter-than-sugar Jane Bennet. The best thing about this story, though, is the beauty, complexity, and reality of the relationship between the two romantic leads. Through it, they learn about themselves and about each other, thoroughly earning their place on the list of Greatest Fictional Couples in History. This is a must-read for anyone who loves romance, drama, classic literature, or happiness in general. Its certainly less tragic than Romeo and Juliet. Reviewed by Danielle Eatock
