Maxine, the spirited owner of the only diner in Possum Trot, Nebraska, is on a mission to save her town from disappearing off the map. Facing down relentless agricultural giants, battling climate disasters like droughts, floods and tornadoes (and yes, even a flying cow), and navigating the chaos of her own family's dramas, Maxine fights tooth and nail to keep the soul of her town alive.
But with young people fleeing to the big city and corporate powers knocking at the door, can Maxine hold Possum Trot together? Or will it fade into memory like so many small towns before it?
