Practical Self Sufficiency penned by Dick and James Strawbridge is an abosulte must have guide for all of those who love to garden, DIY, and provide for themselves within the comfort of their own home.
When I am looking to find a new garden project, or perhaps try my hand at a new home-style recipe or craft this book has got it all. From Basket weaving to butchering and fruit trees to farm design the Strawbridges have you covered. I cannot honestly recommend this book enough to any and all with a green thumb and especially to those with a passion for self reliance.
If you're looking to get your hands dirty in the backyard or in the kitchen then you will never need to look further. In fact, if you feel so inclined to wander off into the bush and never return (like I know you've pondered about) this book is a must have companion to living off the land.
In my opinion this is possibly the best gardening and how-to reference for all Aussies, from bohemian, inner-city balcony crops all the way to fully fledged homesteads. Don't hesitate about it this book is worth it. - Michael (QBD)
