In a dazzling and spectacular setting, a multitude of details are provided that enhance the illustrations. Each princess is illustrated on a full double page. A system of single or double bands provides rhythm to the book and accentuates the surprise effect of certain scenes.
To place each of the princesses in her historic and geographical context, the text takes inspiration from a legend drawn from the collective imagination of the country from which she comes.
