In Britain the creation of a General Teachers' Council -- ensuring, for the first time, professional self regulation for teachers -- is drawing close. This book, written in association with members of the embryonic General Teachers' Council, explores the key ethical and professional issues that have to be solved before a council can exist -- and the answers that are being found.
