All children, except one, grow up
I first read Peter Pan or had it read to me when I was six or seven, and as someone who is now approximately grown-up, I still love it to bits. The original Peter Pan is very different from the Disney version, and not your usual children's fantasy, either. Peter, the hero, is careless and often cruel, and Barrie's narration is fabulously snarky. He doesn't even seem to like his child protagonists, and there is a definite bias towards Captain Hook. As a child, I loved it for the fairy-dust, the pirates, and the adventure. As an adult, I think I love it for being both magical and sad at once. A classic for all ages. Reviewed by 33as.
