Beneath the oceans of earth lives a race of humans known as merpeople. Placed there eons ago to protect the planet by aliens known as greys, the merpeople are warriors who live for thousands of years. The mermaid queen, Beatrix, is restless and unhappy. Saddened by the loss of her child at birth and impatient with her dismissive and unfaithful husband, King Moby, she travels to France to investigate reported sightings of a giant sea creature in the Loire River. While in France, she encounters Michael, the handsome young manager of an art gallery, and the two are instantly drawn toward each other-while King Moby descends further into relationship with a mermaid named Dia. But none of them have any idea that the plans of an ancient evil are about to come to fruition and bring about the end of both human and merpeople civilization. In this science fiction novel, a mermaid queen searches for love and happiness despite her cheating husband-unaware that an old enemy is making plans for their demise.
