A Love Story.
'Quattrocento' is a time-travel love story, set in present-day New York and Renaissance Italy. Matt, a young art restorer at the Metropolitan Museum, is cajoled into a attending a black-tie opening of a rare "studiolo" from the ducal palace of Gubbio, Italy (the room is an actual exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum). As he stands at the vanishing point of the perspective lines in the studiolo, Matt is transported back to Gubbio in 15th century Italy.
There, he meets Anna, a beautiful young woman learning the same techniques of painting as Matt is expert at restoring. Matt immediately recognises her as the sitter for a portrait he has found in the vaults of the museum and that he has felt inexplicably drawn to while in the process of restoring it. Their love of art grows into love for each other, but when Matt tries to alter history as we know it in a duel with his rival for Anna, he is thrust back into present-day New York.
Matt must decide whether to stay in the present or, if Anna is the true love of his life, to return to the past.
