Queensland is the second largest of Australia's States, a place of fantastic diversity and spectacular landscapes. In Queensland's beautiful south-east, subtropical riches abound.
Brisbane, Queensland's capital, stands on Moreton Bay, in the south-eastern corner of the State. Situated on the Brisbane River, it is a sophisticated centre of government, business and commerce. Brisbane has attracted residents and visitors from all over the world, and above all it is a warm city - in its climate, its residents and their hospitality.
To Brisbane's north is the scenic and popular Sunshine Coast and to the south is the world-famous Gold Coast, with its mountainous hinterland of charming villages and rainforested national parks.
South-east Queensland has been endowed by Nature with many gifts. The sea coast is an earthly paradise for holiday-makers. Mountains fringing the city provide green spaces which are enclosed in the beautiful Brisbane Forest Park. Further afield are World Heritage Listed Lamington National Park and Fraser Island.
