Raphael And The Noble Task

Raphael is the dragonlike guardian of the main entrance to the Cathedral, closely watching the people enter and leave every day. But as the years pass, Raphael becomes lonely and decides that he needs a Noble Task to bring meaning to his life. When an infant is left at the Cathedral, Raphael sees his chance. But saving and raising the child requires great sacrifices, and Raphael is faced with a moment of truth so powerful it will take all the courage in his heart and soul to prevail.

Twenty-five charming and original illustrations bring to life all the characters in the cathedral: the talking mice, the flying statues, the animated gargoyles, the pigeons, and the dedicated and hard-working but impoverished monks.
