This unique sequence of old pictures of Redruth are selected from the author's own extensive collection of old picture postcards and photographs collected by him over many years. The scenes depict life in and around the town as it used to be in the early years of the century.
Through over 200 photographs of the area we can follow some of the many changes that have taken place; the shops and businesses that no longer trade, the buildings and streets that are gone or have changed beyond recognition and also some of the town's personalities who are now only a memory.
Marvel at the range of transport that was available; the horse-drawn wagons, the GWR railway buses, the old steam wagons and the trams. Join some of the old residents as they attend the many annual events that were so popular such as the Royal Cornwall Show, the far, the Redruth Exhibition and the chapel treats. For each person that reads the book the author guarantees that there will be at least one photograph that will act like a key to unlock a memory or will provoke a discussion of times gone by.
